It is a misconception to say that the IDF is a Jewish Army as it plainly is not, it is the Army of Israel and just as the cowards who are the politicians of the Knesset who are unable to legislate the most basic of laws, that separates Religion from State and grants every Israel equal rights of being able to believe whatever that they wish without any coercion especially when it is done in the name of the State, will the generosity of the State not to legislate in this respect be continued to be abused by those who wish to force their beliefs on all – sounds so much like what the National Socialists in Germany demanded and got from an insipid government and look what it did to over 50 million people in seven years. Were it not for a small number of principled people who were not prepared to surrender to their demands, so the supporters of this cowardly indoctrination do all they can to silence criticism. When the missiles start to fall praying is not going to save you, and going to war in the name of religion or God is allowing oneself to be used to the extent of death for political ends that have no relation whatsoever to religion.
You cannot impose on anyone what they can or cannot believe nor demand that they publicly confirm their beliefs; too many have been burnt at the stake for that!
Those that have written in earlier responses that what the IDF Rabbinate is doing is right are selfish hypocrites who are blind to see that all men are born equal; it is the egocentric social order we have made for ourselves that has corrupted them to be what they are, stupid bigots. |
