| The considerable value of the developed real estate left behind by the settlers must be secured and preserved by Israel as essential compensation for Palestinians not allowed to return to their properties in Israel proper. In the past, Israel has retreated under a "scorcyhed earth" policy. This is blatantly counterproductive, not only in creating a horrendous international image of Israel, but in multiplying the costs of compensation for the Israeli taxpayer - a totally "lose-lose" proposition, which has defied my attempts to fathom its "logic", because of total lack of common sense and humanity. Do the right thing, and sooner or later the good act will be repaid in kind. The problem is with those who "want it ALL, and want it NOW! Time, and effort in education and understanding, will heal all wounds. We are ONE HUMAN FAMILY, endowed with moral values by ONE CREATOR. |
