| Oil is expected to run out within 25 years and no more refineries are being built. It takes around 20-25 years to recoup the cost so the thinking is `why bother?`. From next year, there will be less oil in the world every year and the price will keep going up. Expect $400 per barrel within 5 years. Alternatives are and have been available for years but it wasn`t in either government`s or oil companies` interests to introduce them. Many governments make more than 50% tax on gasoline and the price is going to go up so why should they hurry? Of course people will cut back and hybrids will hit the market but China and other countries will need more oil. Mike |
