While Gilad Shalit was simply fulfilling his duty as a member of the Israeli armed forces, Daniel Pearl acted extremely careless and naive, when he decided to go on a personal "manhunt" for Ossama Bin Ladin in Pakistan....
....and that as a journalist for a conservative (and at that time very Islam-critical) newspaper like the "Wall Street Journal".
I mean, could one really have acted in a more careless ("stupid") way....????
Bottomline:
Daniel Pearls tragic and brutal death should serve as a reminder for each journalist, that the hunt for the "great story" should never be an excuse for not using his/her own brain.... |
