Saudi Arabia has gone to a lot of trouble in coming up with a Peace Initiative. Israel must study very carefully the Pro·s and Con·s of said plan. Changes can be made,certain points are unacceptable however that what diplomacy is about, trying to normalize the current rifts vis a vis Isreal & Islam.
The majority of Arabs are not extremists, Israel must learn to live with this majority, for religious beliefs should not be always considered "expansionist", a very contentious point not shared by both sides. Israel will most likely end up a shade smaller, however that will be the price of peace. Again, peace is not well defined in the M.E. since governments, especially of Sunni minority, may not maintain their heavy hand over the Shia majority which has shown a deep hatred for all that is infidel including the State of Israel. Israel, is alone and must always maintain its military superiority for soon enough there will be no more chances of diplomacy or peace initiatives. |
