| Child allowances are simply a bad policy. Giving a tax credit based on income and children would be a better social policy as it would encourage people to join the legal workforce and force employers to pay for health and disability insurance for their workers as they should. The current policy just hands out money without regard to the income of the recipients and preferentially pays benefits to families with more than the average number of children. |
