| Colin Powell`s endorsement and that of other prominent conservative thinkers indicate that these lifelong Republicans have been able to see around their figurative blinders and advocate in the best interests of my country. I couldn`t be more proud of this bipartisan season of hope. Circulating in pundit circles (I wish I`d said this, but I`m just repeating it) is the likelihood that many Republicans are assuring their friends at the country club that they support John McCain, but that when they`re in the voting booth, they will pull the lever for Barack Obama. Some, but not all, because their children have transmitted to their parents their hope for our future in a Barack Obama presidency. And how do you like that $150,000,000.00? I am proud that $25.00 of that is mine. |
