The resilient Ms.Livni will form a government of that there is no doubt. The posturing of Shas, for a better deal is quite normal. All these "players" are in the game for gain. Should this narrow based coalition fail, Israel will vote Likud. Likud will run Israel as a one party State, similar to what we see in de facto dictatorships. The question is, with Likud at the helm and MR.Obama in Washington, how can Bibi ever hope to keep our bilateral relations on even keel. This writer remembers quite well the words of Pres.Clinton, when he said, "I cannot work with this guy"! Ms. Livni, even though not elected by the people, may be the best deal for Israel until the general elections, by then Israel will have a "feeling" on Mr.Obama·s foreign policy. Putting the tiger in a cage is the best policy for the moment. |
