| Let`s face it, the Catholic Church, like most religions, has had a lot of dodgy moments. The Catholic Church has spent most of its history. for instance, persecuting, often savegely, those it regarded as heretics or unbelievers. Pius XII`s lack of leadership in World War 2 was another inglorious moment. The attempt to beatify him is therefore another Catholic attempt at whitewashing history and pretending the Catholic Church has always been a force for good. It hasn`t. It should not be allowed to get away with this distortion of the truth. |
