| If there is a single common element most responsible for Islamic extremism in the middle east, it is Israels expansionist policies, which are a direct impediment to peace. It has been called such by President Bush. This has also been confirmed by Irans leader, Hizbollahs leader, Syrias leader and Osama Bin Laden himself. It is Israeli actions and American support of Israel which were the primary cause of the 9/11 attacks. Normally, America and the world have been content to criticize Israels anti-peace expansion in the settlements. This criticism doesn`t faze Israel at all. In fact, in the face of this criticism, Israel doubled the rate of expansion. None of this is lost on Obama. He will make it his personal and immediate concern to use every tool at his disposal to push the peace process forward. These tools will consist of far more than mere words. Obama is the man that right wing Israelis have feared. Someone that will not be humiliated to the world as Israel did to Bush |
