Remember that we`re a tiny country surrounded by a sea of potential enemies. It seems that we are expected to keep our nerds out of units where they can be useful to the country just in case they want to develop hitech in the future.
It does mean that the grads are exposed in the unit to a wide range of potential fields and uses and makes them more aware of possibilities. As a result of this Israeli technology dominates the field.
Bamford comes from a country where they can draw candidates from among hundreds of millions of people and where they don`t have contact with others. This is very nice in that they have clean hands but they also have less knowledge. If Bamford finds that hard to swallow he should take smaller portions and be less ambitious. |
