Israel relies on exporting it`s Oranges and tomatoes, however if the countries which Israel exports to are in a recession there is no money to buy these products.
Therefore orders for the oranges and tomatoes dry up as these are two products that people in the short to medium term can do without until times are better.
The same applies to guns and things. For instance it would not surprise me if the F35 project is delayed for a couple of years.
So when Finance Minister Roni Bar-On says that Israel will not be affected by the global recession that everyone in Europe the United States and the IMF agree has begun he is being extremely optomistic and not completely truthful. |
