| Israel has had similar systems since the Six Day War or the Yom Kippur wars. They were able to sense AND identify aircraft taking off from a number of runways inside Egypt and elsewhere ( with the exception of perhaps the Mig-25`s that were utilized for surveillance of Dimona, et al. ) . Wouldn`t it be better if the threat was eliminated rather than depend on some hardware that may get jammed and/or destroyed in any future conflict ? |
