| Israel ignored Bush when he criticized Israels unbridled settlement expansion and there certainly must have been repurcussions. Peace in the mideast is in the interest of America and the world. Israel has considered peace secondary to expansion. Now, perhaps Israel must choose between expansion and loss of support from America. Some Israelis think that this is not possible, that America will go on giving unquestioned support regardless of how Israel harms American interests. Olmert knows better now. The next PM will know better from the start, lest she learn a very humbling lesson in the public eye. The colck on Israels borders is ticking, back to 1967. |
