lived and still live in Iran for centuries? Do you know how many synagogues are in Tehran alone - not to mention the ones in Esfahan and other cities? I don`t know about other "Moslem states", but Iran has been a safe place for the Jews for a long long time and it continues to be.
BTW, since this is about Paul Newman, Iranians of my generation practically grew up with him as. He represented America for us teenagers, and even some of our mothers had a crush on him but were not telling anyone. The reason why I know this is that as soon as a new Paul Newman film would come to Iran my mother would "organize" a going to the movies party and bunch of our female relatives and us kids would go to the movies. I did not detect any such organizing efforts for John Wayne movies for example. |
