An interesting fact is that most Azeri`s (the ethnic people of Azerbaijan) live south of the nation in Northern Iran.
Basically over 150 years ago the Russian and Perisan empires divided Azeri territory between themselves.
Since Azerbaijan`s independence however there have been calls on both sides to unite under one nation.
Maybe the Azerbaijan government is preparing itself for an opportunity to do just that in the near future.
We will just have to wait and see. |
