To Peter #12, maybe McCartney and others would perform in Muslim countries and population centers if Muslims wouldn`t make death threats on artists who perform in Israel or dare to speak their minds about religion... it`s the same problem with our fanatic sicko Jews here. I strive for an end to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict but these threats have nothing to do with that, viz Salman Rushdie and Ayaan Hirsi Ali.
As for ticket prices, haves and have nots, this is nothing new. The price tag of famous performers is always what the market will bear. The cost of living in Israel is high, and on the other hand there are lots of free and reasonably priced cultural events for those who bother to look for them. Also universal education for both boys and girls, a fair degree of intake of refugees whom other countries shoot on sight, and a relatively cheap, universal health care system which is the envy of the US and Britain. So enjoy life and please stop whining. |
