| When there is true change in the Arab north then Isrtael can negotiate over the Golan. Until then the Golan in Israeli hands is what is keeping the peace. Assad knows that the IDF is 36 hours out of Damascus and in artillary range in very short order. Assad does understand the meaning of regime change and an end of Alawite dominance. |
