| "Urging Iran to cooperate with both the IAEA and the Security Council, the EU statement said: It is not for Iran to contest the authority of the Security Council or of this agency" Iran is a signatory to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (unlike Israel). It is ENTITLED to pursue uranium enrichment as a signatory. It is therefore ENTITLED to contest any attempt to prevent it exercising its rights as a signatory. This so-called "EU statement" is the purest arrogance, reflecting a bending of the rules of the NNPT for political ends. Iran has every right to ignore it. |
