While I agree with what Bandar says that God is a private issue the principles of justice that Ahmadinejad refers to are quite valid.
He refers to the "Zionist regime" as being "on a definite slope to collapse". Here he has got a point as well. I would call it a moral collapse. The occupation of the Palestinian territories in 1967, the way Israel came about in 1948 on the back of the dispossession of the Palestinian people, these are important unresolved issues which eat away at the very heart of Israel as a Zionist state.
Ahmadinejad`s calling for a "humane solution based on a free referendum in Palestine for determining and establishing the type of state in the entire Palestinian lands" - although a bit cryptic - does not sound like warmongering either, but a propsosal to the UN secretary general for a diplomatic solution. |
