Demolishing the houses of dead terrorists is nothing but revenge, as Barak must know but does not dare admit. To admit to this would make Israel sound too much like other Eastern states who do such things, not like the only democracy in the Midde East...
As the terrorist himself is already dead, he cannot be punished. But his innocent family can lose their home and be left sitting on the sand, accomplishing nothing except that they are being punished instead of the man himself.
If Barak wants Israel to be be considered a democracy and a light unto nations he should look to America and Europe and see how many of these democracies demolish the home of a dead criminal. To date, Israel has demolished thousands of Palestinian homes using this rationale. Clearly, it does nothing to deter terrorist acts. Therefore, it is nothing but revenge by the State of Israel.
