Of course he did not win any and ended up being massively in debt to the US (because the US had so generously loaned him the money to purchase the US weapons to fight this US-encouraged war (Of course because of this massive debt he attacked Kuwait thinking he could make some money there to pay off the US, but that is another story). Iran on the other hand foiled the Iraqi dictator`s dreams of owning Iranian oilfields; they withstood the might of the most advanced and well supplied arab military (thanks to the US) in the ME, that at a time when they were at their weakest; they foiled the plans of the US and US-allied arab regimes; they maintained their independence from the US hegemony; they demolished the head of the conspiracy against it when they took over the US embassy;... |
