I`ll tell you. Because Israel has a long history of creating provocations and then replying with massive, disproportionate response when the neighbor who is provoked responds in any way, all the while screaming to the world that the peaceful Jews are only responding to the warlike acts of their bloodthirsty neighbors. Moshe Dayan admitted that the Israelis were doing that to the Syrians as early as right after the 1949 armistice. The Syrians aren`t foolish enough to fall into that particular no-win trap again. |
