She says:"..feminists agree this would be a historic accident, as both Livni and Knesset Speaker Dalia Itzik were elected despite, not because, they are women". Au contraire: feminists should rejoice davka because they were not elected women. Such "accidents" should be taken as signs that women are taken seriously. Whether feminists do or do not rejoice, will tell us more about what passes for feminism than it does about Livni or the nature of Israeli politics.
