demonizing them? It would have have much more impact. The automatic accusation of anti-semitism and/or self-hate against anti-zionists has been much abused by a lot of pro-Israel voices. Isn`t it time for a mature and self-confident Jewish opinion to change tactics?
It is true that "judeophobia" today, be it from neo-nazi or extreme Islamic sources, is expressed as "anti-zionism". It is true that a lot of anti-zionist discourse is false, crude and demagogic, like the analogies equating Israel with Nazi Germany. But this needs to be addressed rationally, not histerically. Israel is supposed to be a modern prosperous county with a 1st quality army. Yet Israel supporters still react as if it was a shetl besieged by Cossaks. |
