There have been stringent security checks at Ben Gurion since the seventies (when it was known as the Lod airport).I was there a few weeks before the Yom Kippur war and prior to this there had been an attack by Palestinian and Japanese(!!) terrorists with many victims.As far as I remember,neither me nor my family had any problems with the security at that time.
And this despite the fact that,a few days later,when we went into a bank in Haifa,a security officer looked rather suspectfully at my brother (who,at that time,had a somehow pale skin that could make someone believe he was Japanese...).
But for those who hate everything that is Jewish,even security checks can be a reason for bashing us. |
