The Second Lebanon War was a gross, colossal error on the part of Israel, harming its security in a major way, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER ISRAEL WON OR LOST THE WAR. The war itself damaged Israel`s security. This should have been recognized by those who launched it. It was a lose-lose proposition. There was no way any outcome of that war could advance Israel`s interests or security, which is not solvable by military means. Military means only aggravate an already terrible situation.
The Saudi Initiative is the only olive branch being offered to Israel, guaranteed to solve all of its problems. The only exit offered by the Middle East community itself, with whom Israel must make peace. Peace will not come through agreements with America! Or with the AIPAC lobbying Congress. Only through the Saudi Plan can peace come. |
