| Ya`alon is wrong. The biggest IDF success of the Second Lebanon War was in the first hour, when IAF jets destroyed all of Hizbullah`s long range missiles in South Lebanon. This operation was the fruit of six years of intelligence gathering. The IAF also destroyed numerous Hizbullah targets in central Beirut. But sadly, we ran out of appropriate targets, and the needed advance of massive IDF reserves into South Lebanon was delayed until the last minute. The failure to mobilize massive IDF reserve troops to stop the Hizbullah rocketing of the home front with Katyushas is the biggest failure of the war. |
