correct, if anything less than an overwhelming defeat is inflicted on Iran in such a strike. A limited action would result in a conventional war which could be quite widespread and difficult. However it is difficult to see why the main concern is nuclear-weapons getting into the hands of nonstate actors. In the case of Iran we are dealing with a regime which purports to worship death. It would be truly dangerous to allow those with such unbalanced thinking to get their hands on nuclear material. Any such negotiations must be on the basis that the outcome will be that Iran does not get its hands on nuclear material and should be concluded well in advance of the last possible date of taking action against Iran.
