Joseph L thinks economic blockade in exchange for firing rockets towards Sdorot is collective punishment. Would he prefer Israel to fire rockets into Khan Younis? That would certainly be "proportionate" retaliation. In fact, enough rockets fired into Gaza would cause the Qassams to stop. How many? As many as necessary. Certainly that`s what Joseph L. would do since killing people going about their ordinary business is not Joseph L.`s concern.
Economic blockade, as an alternative to shooting rockets in Khan Younis, may not do what Joseph L. would do, and it may also not be as effective, but Jews have restrictions on killing innocents that Hamas does not have, and Joseph L`s respect for Hamas merely indicates that the souls of barbarians may be found in many places. |
