Russia`s been invaded 3 times from the West. The last invasion cost 20 million Russian lives. Since Bush took office, the US has been encircling Russia with a ring of high tech US weapons from the Baltic states to the planned Caucuses states and to the South by the -stans. To the Russians, the US doesn`t look like the cuddly teddy bear. We look like Napoleon and Adolph and the Teutonic Knights, ready to spit babies on our pikes at Pskov.
Under Bush, US policy has been entirely insensitive to Russian views as being irrelevant. Russia thinks they are relevant. Maybe that is why the Russian fleet is on its way to the Caribbean and Russian nuclear capable bombers are in Venezuela, just when the US and Venezuela are expelling ambassadors. |
