| My law office had an office in the twin towers but escaped, being on the lower 60 floors. My course on the psychology of terrorism says most people are resilient and survive and the trauma grows less with time. Those who are severely traumatized should seek help. In the event of another attack, which could happen, although some were thwarted, be prepared, nationally, locally and INDIVIDUALLY. Think about the worst case scenario, chemical, biological attacks. BE PREPARED. Volunteer, take courses at Red Cross, make your plans for yourself and your family, keep telephone numbers handy. See FEMA or Red Cross website for info. Praise the police and firefighters for their heroism and the fact that they face this danger everyday and accept it as part of their job, plus the suport they get from their families and buddies. Keep your support from family, friends and commmunities. |
