As Amos Oz put it in a interview in French some years ago, there is no other nation in the world whose existence is questioned as Israel`s existence. It is, now, part of what has been called "new antisemitism". The posts in "Ha`aretz" are plenty of defamatory posts against Israel and Jews, disguised as humanitarian and human-rights advocacy from European and American visitors of the site. It is a phenomenon we are facing now. But the strongest part of Israel as a fact of life is precisely the inherent weakness it carries within. It is another `tour" of what Germans called "the Jewish problem". Sartre was a little more careful he spoke of "the Jewish question". For Nasrallah there is not "problem", nor "question", he has already his answer. |
