Israeli apologists insist that Gaza is no longer under Israeli military occupation and, therefore, Israel is no longer the occupying power there.
No way! No how!
If that is the case then the transfer of Palestinians *FROM* the West Bank (which is under Israeli military occupation) *TO* the Gaza Strip (which Israel insists is not) is quite illegal under international law.
Article 49, GCIV: Forcible transfer of protected persons out of occupied territory is forbidden.
Either Israel is insisting that it is still the occupying power in Gaza, or it is blatantly lying when it insists that it "observes the humanitarian provisions of the Geneva Conventions".
Which one is it, guys? |
