The interview of sage President of the Jewish State of Israel Shimon Peres with the late great Russian Nobel Literature Laureate Alexander I. Solzhenitsyn should be read by all spiritually minded people of all faiths on this planet. As a former Editor of EAST EUROPE Magazine during the Cold War, I was a strong supporter of newly and forcibly exiled Alexander Solzhenitsyn, helping to enlist the support for him of such people as the late President George Meaney of the AFL-CIO and both Senators Jesse Helms and Claiborne Pell. Sage President Shimon Peres of the restored ancient Jewish State of Israel reflects in his dialogue with Solzhenitsyn the core Semitic values of all of the Semitic prophets from Abraham and Moses through Jesus and Muhammad (peace be upon them).
The publication of this interview in the Presidential column of Haaretz will hopefully help evoke in Russia a surfacing of Russia`s spiritual dimension to temper the harmful current bravado in Moscow. |
