| Gideon Levy is usually full of it but, in this particular case, he is correct in that one shouldn`t water down an academic degree for any purpose. Members of the security forces should have to study like any other student for the simple reason that their degrees will come to be recognized as less worthy than those who put in the proper course load. If an officer of the IDF or Shabak wants an academic degree for professional advancement, than let them take leave from their work or study at night and do a real degree. Don`t water down academic excellence; people will soon figure out that the "degree" isn`t worth any thing! Just so I`m clear: any Shabak officer is worth 20 Gideon Levys. |
