Why the hate? Well, maybe it has something to do with the following three (amongst many) facts:
i. 750,000 Palestinians were uprooted from their homes and land in 1948 in order to make way for a Jewish state. Israel has never taken responsibility for this pre-meditated ethnic cleansing.
ii. Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza have experienced decades of Israeli occupation and the progressive colonization of their land. Even when the illegal settlers left Gaza in 2005, the Gazans were kept inside a virtual prison and subjected to illegal collective punishment by Israel.
iii. Palestinians who have Israeli nationality are treated like second class citizens not least in terms of municipal funding, education, etc. The fact that a few make it to the top universities tells you nothing about the majority. |
