I agree with David. I have very negative views about Israel`s actions towards the Palestinians. I have always been against the concept of an ehnic or religious based state. My views on Zionism are therefore very negative.
However, instead of attacking the legitimacy of my position, some attack the views as being anti Semitic. They would rather choke off legitimate debate by throwing down a card that lumps one with Hitler and the KKK.
As an aside, I want to comment on David`s reference to the self-hating Jew. The first time I went to New York. A very small group of individuals (including Jews) were protesting the manner in which Israel was treating Palestinians. A very large group of individuals demonstrated against them across the street. Mony of the people on the other side of the street screamed "self-hating jew". I cannot imagine the courage of those individuals knowing what would be said of them. |
