Jews should also recognise there are other dedicated friends of Israel, who will - as friends should - occasionally criticise aspects of Israeli policy, culture or society.
I don`t like the Gaza blockade. I think Israel has no business building or expanding settlements in the West Bank. I believe Israel will need to compromise on the status of Jerusalem so that a Palestinian state may also claim a part of that holy place as its capital.
Offering these opinions in the past on Talkback has earned me accusations of being anti-Semitic, anti-Zionist, anti-Israel. Yet if these same critics looked a bit farther to read my posts regarding Syria, Hizbullah, Hamas, and Iran, they would know their claims are manifestly untrue.
It`s just as easy to sling an accusation of anti-Semitism as it is to be anti-Semitic. And I heartily disapprove of both.
