While it is certainly handy to be able to clothe ones national behavior in the cover of a religion, it is most certainly self-serving. Israel is a country; Judaism is a religion. I suppose Serbs use the defense that criticism of their behavior (in Kosovo, for instance) is really a cover for anti-Serbian Orthodox hatred.
