The word Sem[ite] is rooted in the name of from the Biblical Patriarch Shem, Noah`s son. All Semites [Shemites] are not Jews. Many Jordanians are Shemites, for example.
Jews can add greatly to the fight against racism, facism and religious intolerance by educating other Jews that they have many brothers and cousins among the Arabs, many of whom are Semites [source: the Bible], and should treat them as such.
Additionally, the are many "Lost Israelites" among the Arabs, and many of them will no doubt begin to embrace their Israelite heritage when so many Jews stop being so racist.
Good citizenship and good neighbor attitudes are based on seeing others as more similar to oneself than different.
Peace, Shalom, Salaam.
