| You wont see a jewish Israeli policeman in east jerusalem - it`s too dangerous for them. So who in practice do you think is providing the routine law and order there? The IDF doesnt want to go there as that`s admitting that it is occupied territory, and in any case police work is not what they`re trained for. The reality is there is an informal palestinian "police force" in East Jerusalem who operate in an informal, plausibly deniable cooperation with the Israeli authorities. |
