Why is Assad pursuing this NOW ?
Some may dismiss the question as less relevant than the fact Assad IS appearing as offering peace to Israel in exchange of the Golan.
What does Assad really want? What do his patrons on Tehran tell him to do or not to do?
Once Israel can confidently answer these questions, she can walk towards a true peace deal with Syria.
And: Send him a paper with Israel`s starting point: Peace should be true peace. No hosting, helping, aiding, arming, funding of terrorists against Israel anywhere. No to Syria being a bridgehead for Iran. This should be in the frame of the Saudi peace proposal of Beirut 2002, ratified later. Strong fiscalization, etc. |
