| Israel and America are extremely reluctant to make their soldiers accountable for abusive actions against foreign nationals, even when those foreign nationals are found to be innocent non-combatants. The only thing which will lead to placing responsibility is when the abusive actions become known to the public, and even then, the criticism must mount to a certain level before the military takes any action. The surrender of this Hizbollah man can serve as an example to Israel and America of holding your troops accountabile for their actions. Normally, we would expect a "terrorist" group to be less accountabile and responsible that the professional militaries of two well known democracies, but, sadly, this is not the case. |
