| Trying to draw a line of connection between defense spending to social welfare spending and then to isolated incidents of horrific child abuse is really a stretch. Israel spends a ton of money on defense -and has ridiculously high taxes- because it is surrounded by folks who spend all their spare time and money trying to attack Israel. Large proportions of public and private monies are spent on social wlefare programs of all types. Trying to shoehorn a guns and butter approach into a realistic account for what caused the tragedies in Israel, or in a myriad of other countries this week is really not realistic. What motivated your attempt? |
