Anie Nathan died, but sadly, the Israeli desire to make honest peace, to make bold moves towards peace died with him.
Abie Nathan was not only a man, he was a SPIRIT, a courageous menality that I always found unique to the Israeli spirit: humane, warm, just and sadened by the cruelty of the Israeli occupation and oppression of Palestine.
Abie Nathan was one of the few who spoke out, who acted and showed us that change IS possible. He could have led the Israeli people into the promised land of peace and justice, but like Moshe, he died before entering the promised land. May new leaders rise up and finish his work and take the people Israel into the land of Justice and peace, milk and honey. sadly I don`t see them today. But we saw the Berlin wall fall, we`ve seen Apartheid die, Northern Ireland made peace, we are seeing the Cuba dictatorship slowly falling...so there IS hope, tikva.
God bless Abie Nathan and the great Israeli spirit he brought onto this earth.
