I have read in several places that about 250,000 Palestinians in Lebanon have Lebanese citizenship.
If that is the case I do not see how they are still an issue. As for the rest I agree that it would be a bad idea to keep them in Lebanon, for the very same reason why it would be an issue to bring them to Israel.
An alternative is to find a third state(s) that would take them in. Israel should pay for the expenses and in return Lebanon will close the issue and the camps.
As for Syria and to a lesser degree Jordan, there is no reason, other than political that their Palestinian populations cannot be fully integrated into their society. |
