Hey Anshel, how involved are you in the Jerusalem election? You have to at least know that last week`s ynet poll had Barkat winning 49% of the vote to Porash`s 33% and Gaydamak`s 15%. This is hardly what you call "Polls published in the local Jerusalem paper".
Porash isn`t a shoe-in like you imply, in fact sources say that he`s losing by such a large margin that the Haredi powers that be are thinking of letting Luplianksy run again. In addition, most Haredi sections are mad at Porash for what he did in Beitar and are considering telling their constituents to stay home on election day.
Porash is barely tolerated by the vast majority of Haredim and actively hated by the rest of the population. His antics with the bridge were the final straw for most people.
Nir Barkat and Wakeup Jerusalem have empowered the people of Jerusalem and shown them that their numbers matter. Non-haredim feel like they have voice. Talk to people, you`ll see. |
