As one whose family suffered from the germans in rhodes..I can say when our family went back to visit, the following facts are true..our familys house was taken by the greeks...with no reparations or no care...two..when we went to visit the cemetary the cab driver when he realized it was the jewish one just dropped us and left...when he was contracted to stay and drive us back...so surprised of the anti semitism?..no...
But rhodesli`s are a proud group and our synagogue remains....and when we visit we make sure a service is conducted..in our tradition..they thought they got rid of us..we are alive and well and with the memories of our departed with love and affection and most of all respect..something the world seems to lack.. |
