This is terrible, and scary; it really shows that even with laws against hatred, one cannot force toleration or respect for the Jewish people. It would be important to find out what is the root cause of this hatred, and try to address that issue; but in the meantime, the band-aid of enforcing the law against hatred is necessary. Of course that band-aid may cause further alientation and hatred.
Of course, this could just be an isolated incident, and most Rhodes residents and high school students might also find this rougue group of students offensive. nevertheless, where their is smoke, their may be fire. |
